Here are the following "grades" you can receive in the grade book for your practice problems:
Complete: all problems are completed with work shown
Inc (Incomplete): one or more problems are not attempted
NA (Not Attempted): practice was not done at all
IWS (Insufficient Work Shown): problems are completed, but work is not shown for each problem
Late: Student received a grade of "Inc", "NA" or "IWS" , made the changes, and showed it late for a late grade

The most important part of doing math is showing your work. This allows your teacher (and you!!) to see if you truly understand the problem. Take a look at the following homework assignment from the textbook. Here are what two students did for their assignment:
This assignment would get a grade of IWS (insufficient work shown) in the gradebook. Here is what is wrong with it:
- No title at the top showing the lesson, page number and problem numbers - the problems are numbered incorrectly - no work shown. I can't see what this student was thinking when working on this. - student worked ACROSS rather than DOWN |
This assignment would get a grade of Complete in the gradebook. Here is what they did right:
- Title at the top showing the lesson, page number and problem numbers - the problems are numbered correctly - ALL work is shown - I can easily see this student's thinking - student circled or boxed in their answer - they worked DOWN rather than ACROSS |
